30 day Birthday Challenge 4

Birthday Challenge 3 is finishing off with a bang…I am very proud of myself for finding ways to get in 9 servings of fruits and vegetables daily!! I know this is something that will stick with me so I can continue to eat more than just 5 a day because I know it’s wonderful for my body, especially during marathon training.

I was also very happy with the number of business books that I read during this time.  A fine line and Let My People Go Surfing are two that I would recommend to those of you looking for a little business inspiration.  The only downside to this goal was that I chose to stop reading any books for fun…as many of you know that’s one of my passions and I think part of the reason I was feeling out of sorts!

MIND: I feel like some mental clarity about my goals are in order this month.  I want to spend just a little time every day writing down my goals. Ideally I would pick 6 things to focus on every day as my task list and go from there…right now my list is all over the place and that brings with it a mind that is all over the place.  So to be concise this month is about getting focused…at work, at running, if life.

BODY: The next 30 days involve 2 round trips to KC and 2 round trips to Vegas and possibly a trip to Boston, hence I will be away from home and making it that much more of a challenge to always eat my fruits and veggies.  Well THAT'’s PERFECT, I love a challenge.   So I decided that the best thing for me to focus on over the next 30 days is slowing down.  Yes, eating my food deliberately and really tasting it.  This will help to ensure that when eating out I stop when I’m full, that I enjoy the food and don’t need to feel rushed in my decisions or eating.  I know that I snack a lot because I eat so quickly, so I am excited about this focus!

SOUL: Read a little quote or scripture daily to keep me focused on others.  I try to think about others, but really as an only child I know I spend way to much time thinking the Earth revolves around me…plus you all keep reading my stuff making me think it’s true ;).

Don’t forget to sign up for the Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge and get yourself movin and groovin through the holidays.  We only have 50 participants right now…come on I know we can beat last years number of 100!!  Plus hey then maybe I can put you in teams or buddies…oh now the ideas are flowing.

And I am all about the slowing down when I eat and trying to chew and taste everything - it really does help you feel fuller faster. :)

Girl I don't know how you do it with all of that traveling! I'd be cranky and exhausted. When does the Bootie Bustin begin?

I skimmed through the part about KC and somehow thought I rad you were making 2 trips to KFC. I thought how odd considering the 9 servings of veggies/fruits goal. LOL. Good luck with the next 30 days. Sounds like a whirlwind!

I really need to eat more veggies, I've cut back on smoothies and I've noticed a difference. Good job with all those servings.Makes me realize its possible.

Congrats on your challennge; looks like you are doing really well with it!
Slowing myself down while I eat is something that I have vowed to be better at. My husband eats so slow that half the time I end up eating the food off of his plate. Good luck with this one; let me know how it goes!

that's a lot of traveling; sounds like a good plan with the food though!
