To qualify for Boston, I'd plan to run NY for fun and find a marathon earlier than NY that's smaller, and fairly flat...NY with the crowds and the hills not sure it'd be the best to make your goal. My fundraising is one of the reasons I started my blog - to keep people posted on what I was doing including how fundraising was going. But I did send occasional "updates" to everyone on my list.
